EZ Spare Wheel Installation Guide

Follow these steps before using your EZ Spare Wheel during a roadside emergency. Always park in a safe location, use the correct tools, and follow your vehicle owner’s manual for jack points and torque specifications.

Before You Begin

  • Test Fit Within 15 Days

    Test your EZ Spare Wheel on your vehicle within 15 days of delivery to confirm fitment and help maintain return eligibility.

  • Park Safely

    Move your vehicle to a flat, stable surface away from traffic. Turn on hazard lights before starting.

  • Check Your Owner’s Manual

    Always confirm the correct jack point and torque specification for your vehicle before lifting or tightening the wheel.

What’s Included

Your EZ Spare Wheel kit may include the compact spare wheel and tire, required lug nuts or bolts, and a hex/torx key when applicable. Kit contents can vary by vehicle and product bundle, so please review your order details or product page for the exact items included.

Note: Jack kits, carrying bags, jack pad adapters and roadside accessories may be sold separately unless included in the kit you purchased.

Tools You May Need

Vehicle jack, lug wrench, spare tire/wheel, and vehicle owner’s manual (for specific instructions and torque specifications) Not every vehicle uses the same jack points, lug bolts, lug nuts or torque specifications. Always check your vehicle owner’s manual before installation.

Installation Steps

Step 1: Prepare the Vehicle

Park your vehicle on a flat, stable surface away from traffic. Turn on your hazard lights and apply the parking brake. If available, place wheel chocks around the opposite tire to help keep the vehicle stable.

Step 2: Check Your Owner’s Manual Before Lifting

Park on a flat, stable surface away from traffic. Turn on your hazard lights, apply the parking brake and place wheel chocks around the opposite tire if available.

Step 3: Remove Hubcaps, Center Caps or Lug Covers, If Equipped

Before lifting the vehicle, slightly loosen the lug nuts or bolts on the flat tire. Turn counterclockwise just enough to break resistance. Do not remove them completely yet.

Step 4: Loosen the Lug Nuts or Bolts

Before lifting the vehicle, slightly loosen the lug nuts or bolts on the flat tire. Turn counterclockwise just enough to break resistance. Do not remove them completely yet.

Step 5: Position the Jack

Place the jack at the manufacturer-approved lift point listed in your owner’s manual. Make sure the jack is stable and properly seated before raising the vehicle. If your vehicle requires a jack pad adapter, install it before lifting.

Step 6: Lift the Vehicle

Raise the vehicle until the flat tire is off the ground. Never place any part of your body under the vehicle while it is supported by a jack.

Step 7: Remove the Flat Tire

Remove the lug nuts or bolts completely and keep them in a safe place. Carefully remove the flat tire from the wheel hub.

Step 8: Install the EZ Spare Wheel

Align the EZ Spare Wheel with the wheel hub. Use the correct lug nuts or bolts for your application. If your EZ Spare kit includes replacement hardware, use the provided hardware as instructed. Hand-tighten the lug nuts or bolts in a star pattern.

Step 9: Lower the Vehicle Partially and Tighten

Lower the vehicle until the EZ Spare Wheel touches the ground, but the full vehicle weight is not completely on the wheel. Tighten the lug nuts or bolts in a star pattern.

Step 10: Torque to Manufacturer Specifications

Refer to your vehicle owner’s manual for the correct lug nut or bolt torque specification. Use a torque wrench whenever possible. Do not guess the torque specification.

Step 11: Lower the Vehicle Completely

Lower the vehicle fully and remove the jack. Recheck that all lug nuts or bolts are properly tightened.

Step 12: Drive Carefully

EZ Spare Wheel is designed for temporary emergency use only. Drive carefully and continue to a tire shop, service center or safe location as soon as possible. Follow the speed and distance guidelines provided with your spare tire kit.

Important Safety Note

Never attempt to change a tire on the side of a busy road or in an unsafe area. If you cannot safely move away from traffic, call roadside assistance. EZ Spare Wheel is intended for temporary emergency use only. Always follow your vehicle owner’s manual for jack points, lifting instructions and torque specifications.
